Oct. 27, 2011 Waterville Community Connections board meeting

The Waterville Community Connections board met on Oct. 27, 2011, at the Cummiskey Law office in Waterville.
Jane presented the financial report.
There was discussion about the Sakatah Arts Experience held July 10, 2011. Due to the hot weather, the SAE board has discussed having next year's event in August, on a Saturday.
Motion made by Diane, seconded by Kim, to approve the financial report.
Downtown Beautification
Kathy Kerekes of Singing Hills Coffee Shop donated $75.00 to WCC for a bench.
The plant boxes and benches need cleaning and finishing. Jane will get finish stain at Ron's for about $66.00. Motion made by Diane, seconded by Karen, to approve purchase of finish product. Motion carried. The downtown group will meet at the end of the year to assess this year's projects and plan for next year.
Summer Activities
Lynne has been paid for her summer activites program. She would like to plan activities for off-school days. She has as yet had no answers from SMIF or the City Council in regard to her request for youth activities, especially in regard to a location. She has had offers for supplies for activities, just needs a place for the program. She is setting up an office at Cummiskey Law Offices.
New Business
The Waterville Community Connections board will meet on Dec. 12, 2011, to talk about the Forum held in Oct., to discuss and decide on the next steps to take for the group.
The Waterville Chamber is holding their downtown open house on Thurs. Dec. 1, in the evening. Many activities and events are planned.
The Elysian Holidazzle celebration is scheduled for all day, Sat. Dec. 3. Jane has a trailer and a group of kids will be organized to ride on it, and sing carols. The parade is at 6 p.m. The trailer will be decorated at Jane's that day. Concensus motion to purchase food as a donation to be in the parade, as suggested by the Holidazzle group, as there is no entry fee.
